MINUTES OF THE GENERAL BODY MEETING OF 23rd MINES ENVIRONMENT AND MINERAL CONSERVATION WEEK 2016-17 HELD AT HOTEL CENTRAL COURT, LAKDIKAPOOL, HYDERABAD ON 26.08.2016 AT 11.00 A.M.
The meeting commenced with the welcome address by Shri Manish K.Maindiratta, DCOM, IBM. The list of participants is annexed separately.
The ME & MC Council acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made by M/s.Bharathi Cement Ltd. in organising the 22nd Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation Week and making the event memorable and grand success.
Shri Pankaj Kulshrestha, Regional Controller of Mines, IBM chaired the meeting of ME & MC Council. Shri Manish Kumar Maindiratta, Deputy Controller of Mines, IBM, Hyderabad and Co-ordinator, ME & MC Council presided over the meeting.
The balance sheet for the previous year was presented by M/s.Bharathi CementsLtd. The audited accounts were approved unanimously. Further, it was decided to utilise amount accumulated in the Council Fund, in the form of fixed deposits for constructive purpose, as was done in the previous year.
A formal declaration of the host M/s. Sagar Cements Ltd. for this year’s ME & MC Celebrations was made.
Thereafter, agenda items were taken up by Sri Manish Kumar Maindiratta, DCOM & Co-ordinator of the council. The following issues were discussed/ deliberated and decisions taken unanimously.

- Participation Fee:
It was decided to put all efforts to increase the No. of participating mines this year and accordingly the participation fee for semi mechanised and manual mines were reduced so that more No. of mines could participate. The participation fee is as follows:

Advertisement is mandatory for all the large mechanised participating mines.
Bank particulars and last date for payment of participation fee will be circulated immediately after opening new account.
- It was decided unanimously that the expenditure for conducting the executive meeting and flag off ceremony will be borne by the council and only final day celebration expenditure will be borne by the host company i.e. M/s.Sagar Cements Ltd.,
- A letter will be issued by IBM to motivate the manual mine owners to participate in the ME & MC Week celebration. M/s.Sagar Cements Ltd., will approach these mine owners through mine owners association and follow up the matter.
- It was decided to print the calendar before flag off ceremony so that the same can be distributed to all the participating mines for wide publicity and awareness.
- All the participating mines were appraised about the star rating system of SDF. It was decided that a presentation will be given on SDF star rating in the next Executive Meeting and details discussion will be done.
- It was decided to discuss all the other issues related to ME & MC Week celebration in the next executive committee meeting to be held on 17.10.2016 tentatively.
- It was decided to host a website in the name of MEMCW Council and necessary help and operation and maintenance assistance in this regard shall be provided by M/s Sagar Cements Ltd.

Shri M.Sai Ramesh, Sr.Vice President, M/s.Bharathi Cements Ltd. said that Bharathi cement has made all efforts to celebrate the 22nd ME & MC Week in a successful manner and promised that all support will be extended by them for the ensuing 23rd ME & MC Week celebration also.
Shri K.V.Ramana, Vice President (Mine), M/s.Sagar Cements Ltd., said all efforts will be made to celebrate the ME & MC Week 2016-17 in a befitting manner and hoped all the co-operation will be extended by the industry and IBM in this regard.
Shri Pankaj Kulshrestha, RCOM, IBM congratulated M/s.Bharathi Cements for successfully organising the 22nd ME & MC Week Celebration and said that the main objective of ME & MC Week Celebration is conservation of mineral for systematic development and protection of environment and bring awareness among one and all. The main aim should be to see that more No. of mines participate in the celebration.
